COASTAL PADDLING/CAMPING
TRIP
March 28 - March 30 2008
Traveling Friday March 28 to Black
River (Below Myrtle Beach) SC. Will paddle Black River and camp two nights
for interesting coastal trip. These coastal trips are always fun,
scenic, and sometimes more adventure than expected. Will see much
wildlife and enjoy nature.
TRIPS AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:
- Usually we have Local Trip each Sunday after church hours.
Trip plans are usually decided Saturday. Call me at TROUBLESOME CREEK
336-627-6215 Saturday if you want details. Sometimes destinations are
not tied sown until Sunday morning due to uncertain weather and river levels
but we will call you if have let us know you are interested.

- Night Trips (usually planned for a Friday or Saturday night near a full
moon.) Usually cookout on an island. Often Kirby plays his
guitar.

- Annual Trips: New Years Day Paddle (Store is closed), Spring
Coastal Paddling/Camping TRIP (Friday & Saturday two weeks after Easter),
Fall Coastal Paddle/Camping Trip (Friday & Saturday after Thanksgiving
Day. Always on river we have not done before.

- Smith River Valley Canoe Club meets the third Wednesday of each month at
Clearance's Steak House in Ridgeway, VA at 7:00.

- Tarheel Paddler's Association meets the third Thursday of
each month at Kathleen Clay Edwards family Branch library, 1420 Price Park
Road, Greensboro, NC.

- Triad River Runners meets in Winston-Salem or nearby area.

MANY TIMES TRIP DESTINATIONS HAVE BEEN DECIDED AT THE LAST
MINUTE FOR TWO REASONS. ONE IS THAT WE CHECK GAUGES TO FIND DECENT PADDLING LEVELS
(ENOUGH WATER TO PADDLE) WHICH MAY NOT BE
USEFUL INFORMATION UNTIL JUST BEFORE THE TRIP IS SCHEDULED. THE SECOND
REASON IS THAT HEAVY RAINS JUST PRIOR TO A SCHEDULED TRIP MAY MAKE RIVER LEVELS
DANGEROUS. WE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO KEEP OUR TRIPS SAFE
DEPENDING ON PARTICIPANTS SKILL LEVELS.
